Somethings are just meant to be together. Lime and Corona, movies and popcorn, vegemite and chocolate (right?!) and… pocket squares and suits. If you’re following us on instagram, or any stylish gent for that matter, you are obviously familiar with pocket squares by now. But those of you who aren’t, where have you been? Pocket squares are like the cherry on top of your outfit, and while they may seem intimidating, they are are surprisingly easy to get the hang of. Here’s our how to to rock the pocket square:
The Square Fold
This pocket square is the antithesis to the saying ‘nothing worth having comes easy’. It’s so simple it hurts: starting with a flat pocket square fold it in half and then in half again, place in pocket. And, uh, you’re done.
The One Point
This is where things get a bit tricky, but trust us, it’s worth it. Start out with the pocket square laying flat as a diamond rather than a square, next, fold in half to make a triangle. Now, pay attention: fold the two corners down to make an even smaller triangle. Do this to all corners. Now, taking the corner (like the pic) that makes the best fold, place it in your pocket with pride.
The Tuck
If you thought the square fold was easy you’re in for a treat, my friend. With your hand in the ‘OK’ symbol begin by laying the pocket square flat over your hand. Next pinch the fabric and pull from the hole between your thumb and index finger. Now place it in your pocket. Yes, seriously, it’s that easy.
Now you know how easy it is to add a pocket square, quit admiring the outfit inspiration on our instagram and one to your own wardrobe! We promise it looks like you’ve spent way longer on it that it took you. Did someone say more time for beers/ hair / etc?
